Casey Anthony Dad Gets Cold Body Language Reception from Jeff Ashton At Victory Party

After looking at the video footage of George Anthony , who had the unmitigated gall to insert himself into the news once again by purposely showing up as an unwelcome guest  at Jeff Aston’s victory party in his race for State Attorney for Orange and Osceola counties, it was apparent that Ashton was not happy about Anthony’s presence.

George was not invited and  based on the body language of Jeff Ashton, George was clearly not welcome.  This was Ashton’s night, not George’s. A nice thank you note would have sufficed. George did not need to show up.

George clearly  did it for his ego as he no doubt misses all the press attention on im and playing “Mr. Golly Gee Poor Me Victim.”  His ego, no doubt became fulfilled everyday when he was in the news. He defended his daughter Casey and did interview after interview claiming her innocence at allegedly killing her daughter Caylee until  the tables turned and he was  being accused of molesting Casey , was  subsequently found not guilty. George’s presence was also a statement  to Casey that he was siding with prosecutors and that he is not happy that Casey  was not found guilty and is now free. It also says that he is still angry at Casey for throwing him under the bus and accusing him of molesting and sexually abusing her.

George showed up at  the victory party at Friendly Confines in  Winter Park shortly after the media announced it was a win for Ashton. George no doubt showed up to let everyone know that the reason Ashton won was because of the Anthony case and that he is still relevant.

Well truth be told, George is not relevant and Ashton won the election despite losing the Casey Anthony case, not because of it.

Body language wise Ashton was not thrilled to see George. Ashton did not smile  a wide smile or do the eyebrow flash one does when they are genuinely happy to see someone. Instead he had a look of surprise on his face reflecting that he didn’t want George to be a part of this.

He di not embrace George or hug George. Instead there was a very distanced handshake. That means that their hands and arms were extended far away during the greeting as they shook hands. This indicated  that Ashton was trying to keep George as far away as possible form him.

The handshake was short  and there was  no lingering on either side  . Ashton quickly broke away and turned his back on George as George then awkwardly tuned away.

George clearly felt the embarrassment based on  the sheepish expression in his face,

Ashton’s subsequent  intriew to the press was also telling as he was monotone and guarded in his tones . He stammered through the interview as he said “ When I  was informed that George Anthony was there I , I , I was surprised”.

Look at his facial expression as he sais this. Does this look like a man who is talking about being happy that he saw someone at his victory party? The answer is a resounding NO! Look at the down turned  lips and look of disgust as though he just smelled something bad as he recalls the incident.

HE then says “I was surprised” yet he shows no look of surprise. Instead he leaks out anger as he makes this statement with a clenched jaw.

I wasn’t expecting him to to appear. But but…. ( look at Ashton’s look of revulsion once  again as though he is going to throw up as he continues

by saying “   I was pleasantly surprised ) as he shakes his head NO and has no smile) as I had not seen him “ (as he turns  away his head) in a long time. I shook his hand uh and he uh congratulated me. “

Ashton turn his head as he says this because he wants to literally turn away from this interview and not discuss George Anthony. He was obviously annoyed George showed up and it showed in Ashtons tone of voice and in his signals of deception,

His stammering and eye blinking all reflect that he is not saying what he really wanted to say which most likely was “ I wish this jerk would not have shown up to my party as he had no business being there.”

Ashton’s body language showed clear evidence thathe didn’t want George there. He does not like George as indicated by his body language. The faced George to the side. He did not face George directly and his toes were not pointing directly in front of George which would have indicated that he liked him.

He had his shoulder up towards George and in essence gave him the cold shoulder  as you can see.The handshake was short and there was a lot of physical distance between he and George which is a signal that he wanted to keep his distance from George.

After they shake hands and Ashton breaks away he turn away and has a tense smile and literally moves away from George.

Then Ashton abruptly and  immediately turns away from George and looks down as if to break any contact ot associatation with him. Ashton clearly knew what George’s motive was. It was no doubt in Ashton’s view to put attention on George and to take away from Ashton’s moment . Ashton clearly he was having none of it and that is why he spent so little time with George. he wanted no part of the association at his party.

George defienatly got he message as she sheepishly turned away and looked down in embarrassment with no place to go. He wasn;t smiling as he clearly got that he was not welcome there.

Ashton ends the interview my saying :It was nce to see him: but his body language says something elese as he leaks out a slight head shake that indicated  no he a not glad to see him and he continues to frown as he makes this statement in a monotone unenthusiastic voice. He also immediately purses his lips as you can see which indicates he has nothing more to say on the topic.

Jose Baez’ Body Language Passionate As He Fights For Casey And Tells HerTo Stop Reacting During Ashton’s Final Argument

7

As Casey sees the video Jeff Ashton first presents of her playing with Caylee, we notice Casey’s half smile with one side of her lips presenting a happy upward coursing smile as she recalls the happy time when SHE was free, Thne in the other side of her mouth we see a a frown with he lips coursing downward as she thinks of how  Caylee landed her  in her present situation where she is NOT free.

As soon as Jeff Ashton began to speak his final arguments and give a full  account of what Casey did to Caylee, she got angry as we can see above. We can see her anger as she  pouts her  lower lip

Casey then begins to vigorous shake her head NO and an mouth the words  Its Not True, She is getting angrier by the second as you can see by the tension in her forehead. It is then that Jose Baez hand her a note that  must  have told her to stop it and gain control over herself. One of the things which was hilarious to me was when Casey kept shaking her head NO as Ashton was talking and he said Casey is very intelligent. She suddenly  stopped shaking her head to listen to his complimentary statement about herself  as he was referring to all of the intricate lies and manipulations she made up.

But Casey could not  control herself. She started with the waterworks. This time they were real becuase they were ALL about HER and what SHE did. There were no tears for Caylee.

Casey can’t look at the skill here. I think as part of her punishment she needs to look at the skill and bones and hair each day.

Baez did a fabulous job considering what he had to work with.  He spun his tale in hopes that one of the jurors would believe him. It was a tale. It really paled in comparison to the truth and  Ashton’s statement.Nevertheless Baez did his best to represent and fight on behalf of his guilty client. I have no doubt that  Casey lied to Baez about Zanny early on. I have no doubt he believed her. But as the truth unfurled he was up to his neck in lies .  As he got caught up in the lies , the drowning was one of the most ridiculous lies he set forth.

Ashton had enough of the ridiculous lies set forth by Baez, so much so that he began to laugh at Jose. Jose in turn,  was infuriated and called him Laughing Man.

Jose then let loose. He pointed at Ashton and finally l out his rage. There is no love  between he and Ashton and they will never see eye to eye about anything.

Casey looked serious and also  hurt  everytme he spoke about her. She teared up ONLY for herself. when she was listening to Baez speak.

River Cruz Shows No Signals of Deception About Affair With George Anthony But Credibility Is In Question With Regard to Past History

RIVER CRUZ REACHED OUT TO DR. LILLIAN GLASS IN 2010

River Cruz   aka Krystal Holloway reached  out to me after I did a blog stating that she appeared to be credible with regard to her having an affair with George Anthony.  I saw a  videotape of her being interviewed by  a WESH 2 reporter and saw no signals  of deception.  She and I discussed her relationship with George Anthony in great graphic detail. At that time I felt she was telling the truth.

She  let me know about her brushes with the law  and her sister’s  serious criminal background as well.   She told me about her name  River Cruz  being a combination of her mom’s last name and a nickname her father called her. She  said she and her sister  Skye both  changed their names  because they liked these names better.  She told me that  that she was reluctant to come forward about her affair  and kept it a secret.  But when detectives came to her house and showed her the text messages and phone call records she came forward.

She also told me she did lie to the detectives and told them she didn’t have an affair when she did  because  she was scared and wanted to protect George because he was married. She  said she  was ashamed of  herself for doing so .  She said she knew it was wrong to have an affair  with a married man.

I  then told her that lying to LE was a very bad thing and that her credibility would always be in question because of that. She stated she was aware of that.

She told me that she wanted no part of the media and that her sister Skye was the one who sold the story to the Enquirer.

I asked her in April 2010  if George told  her what  happened to Caylee. She told me that George said it was an accident that snowballed out of control. I asked her what kind of accident? I asked if it was a chloroform accident or whether George was telling her that because he was just trying to protect Casey. She said she didn’t know because that was all he said to her.

She also shared that she met  Cindy  as well and that Cindy was overly medicated. She also said George told her he had no money and could not buy groceries so she gave him a few thousand dollars of her saved money.

River then shared with me how upset she was with all the media attention on her and didn’t want it. She said that the bloggers were saying hateful things  about her. I suggested that she stop reading the blogs and ignore it. She said she was very depressed about it. I then suggested she speak to a licensed therapist in her area. She said she could not afford it. I then suggested she speak to a clergyman.  She said she would seek help.

The next day I became aware  that she had attempted suicide and remained hospitalized for several days. She called me a couple of days later to let me know she was OK.  I  and encouraged her to seek professional help on a regular basis.

Based on the tonal quality and speech content  when I spoke to her over  the phone over a year ago  I did not hear any signals of deception in my analysis.

RIVER CRUZ ON THE WITNESS STAND 2011

River was very nervous on the stand. She took many deep breaths and her eyes opened widely. She made several facial contortions  indicative of nervousness. When she spoke of the origination of  her name River Cruz to Baez , it was the same thing she told me a year earlier.

Image wise  don’t think River was dressed well for her day in court. I think she needed to have worn a dress, makeup, and worn  her hair down in my view.

When asked if she had in intimate relationship with Mr. Anthony she did not hesitate and showed no signals of deception and her voice was clear. George looked at  her in anger and embarrassment as there were several times he looked down. Cindy hid her head but did manage to sneak a peek at River.

The same is true when she was asked if Mr. Anthony came to her house. She said he came about twelve times  which  sounded believable.

Here we see George with his finger over his lip which means he wants her to not reveal the details of their affair. He looks down in embarrassment as he knows what she is saying  is true.

Here we  see George hiding behind an audience member when River was asked if she gave him money. It indicates that she very well may have given him money and that he was embarrassed by it.

Here River talks about what George said about it being and accident that snowballed out of control . When she described where  she sat ( (on the floor) and where he sat (on the couch) I knew it was true as she said the same thing to me. When she said she did not ask him anything further I again knew she was being truthful because she said the same thing to me.

When River discusses the money, Cindy sneaks a peek at River again  while George looks up and wishes this was over. There were no signals of deception when it came to her discussing that he gave her money.

She is not lying about being with George during the memorial for Caylee. She showed no signals of deception and told me the same thing. She also told me that they had done something intimately that they  never did before and the fact that he never contacted her after the memorial devastated  her.

She did not go to the media after the relationship ended until the detectives came to see her two years later. This is true as she says it confidently with no signals of deception. She also discusses the text George sent  that  the police presented her with that said Thinking of  You I need You in my life. That proves the affair  to a greater degree in my view.

As she says this Cindy sneaks anther peek.

On cross examination  Ashton was very aggressive when he tried to insinuate that she inserted herself  into their lives for publicity. She said she did not which is truthful as she never would have gone  the press had the detectives not shown up at her door. If she had a plan to do so, she would have done it well before two years.

She was also being honest when she said that she went to the National Enquier who she believed  presented her story in a non sensational way.  Here she stood head to head with Ashton.

Ashton was overly aggressive as he discussed the story being more sexy if she had an affair with George. She calmly said that she did have an affair with George which once again appeared credible  without signals of deception. She said it with confidence.

When Ashton brought up the letters where George referenced  Cindy, it didn’t matter. Cindy knew her  as well.  Even though I don’t see the significance  of this it makes me very upset that River knew Cindy and had an affair with her husband a married man.

She admitted she lied and she was truthful about lying. Ashton was really trying to push River’s’ buttons after that but she maintained her place as to what she heard George say. She did not waver and showed no signals of deception.

Ashton’s way of  interrogation insinuated that River was a publicity seeker and that she conveniently told the press she had an affair when she said she did not do so. I can understand how he might think that when she lied to LE that she was lying  that  did have an affair.

She was so flustered  by Mr. Ashton’s questioning , that she took off her top. She was honest  with Ashton . When  Baez questioned her  she told the truth about their affair and about how her sister went to the media two years after the affair.

Then it became too much for River. She was asked to read her statement where she said how George said it was an accident and she broke down on the stand.

She is telling the truth. George looked away and crosses his fingers in a prayer like and self comforting position. He knows what he said is true.

The bottom line is that River was telling the truth and showed no signals of deception whatsoever during her testimony. It was Mr. Ashton’s tone   during his questioning and her feeling flustered as well as her previous lies that cast doubt on what she said on the stand.  www.drlillianglass.com

Casey Nods Pouts Looks Teary Eyed During Dr. Spitz’s Testimony. Doesn’t Look at Skull Yet Shows No Emotion

When Casey arrived the courtroom on Day 33, she sat extremely close to Cheney Mason. She leaned over as they huddled for quite a while as Mason spoke with his hand over his mouth. She  looked extremely relaxed and confident. As they spoke so closely, I imagined that Mason must have told Casey that the witness they would bring on who  would be extremely favorable for Casey’s defense

So when I saw that the defense  brought   forensic pathologist for over 56 years who did over 60,000 autopsies Dr. Spitz I now understood why Mason and Casey  were huddled and why Casey was feeling so  confident. He was their most credible witness  defense had  used to date.

As Dr. Spitz spoke words which seemed to be in Casey’s favor, Casey shook her head yes. She protruded her lower jaw and her devil looking . tension horns on the sides of her head became more prominent . Jeff Ashton tried to impeach the doctor. with his media experience  Personally I thought  it made the doctor look better. Dr. G has her own TV show and she obviously craves the limelight as well.

Ashton  also talked about the doctor’s  high profiles from Phil Spector to OJ, I thought  it made him seem even more credible. He accused him of breaking the skull , which I believe  did not make Ashton look good. Ashton tried to press him on the sediment issue and the doctor stuck to his guns.

During the cross examination, the doctor held his own. Casey was mesmerized and barely moved as he spoke.

When the photo of Casey’s skull and hair was shown, Casey turned away and refused to look at it. She does not  move. She does not cry and does not seem upset. Even though Casey is not looking at the photo, she is listening to the graphic testimony, she is not budging. She has no reaction. This is very significant. Once again it supports my theory that she looks at this trial as though it belongs to someone else and not to her.

Casey also holds her head up with her fist which indicates anger on her part. She is angry that she has to listen to this  testimony about Caylee’s skull. She received no TLC from attorney Simms.According ti Kathi Belich of WFTV,  one juror was  laughing at Dr. Spitz’s theory about someone putting duct tape on the skull .This does not look very good.

Casey is hiding her mouth  as she hears his ridiculous hypothesis that others placed the duct tape on Caylee’s skull.  Subconsciously she is saying that his testimony sounds far fetched with someone else putting the tape over the skull. Apparently another juror according to Kathi Bellich, was seen  smirking during the doctor’s testimony.  cross examination took place. This looks even worse for Casey. Juror’s have seen Casey as a blamer (blaming her father and her mother and Lee). as a blamer .
Now when they see her expert as a blamer (blaming Dr. G as doing a shoddy autopsy,  blaming the examiners of staging the scene and blaming someone else for putting the duct tape on Caylee’s skull.  after the body decomposed) it looks very bad.
When the jury leaves, Casey begins her self grooming routine as she fixes her pants and her top.he was also seen patting her hair on the sides. She was not all smiles and seemed subdued. Maybe she picked up those cues from her defense team who knows things did not go well for them that morning.

Casey Anthony’s Sadistic Laughter In Court at “Pigs In A Blanket”

Perhaps he most genuine emotion we have seen of Casey Anthony thus far was when she laughed out loud  in the courtroom in reference to the “pig in the blanket “comment. As you can see in the photo, her eyes are smiling and her cheekbones are raised.  She is covering her mouth to try and stifle her laughter but she cannot help herself.

Casey laughed  during the  questioning  during  her own “bug expert” witness  Tim Huntington, when Jeff Ashton asked him about a study he used where he put  pigs into  the trunk of a car to simulate the  conditions in Casey’s car where there was an  alleged decomposed body.

Ashton tried to make a point that  the pigs were not wrapped in blankets and garbage bags like  Caylee’s remains were when they were  allegedly placed in the trunk of the car.

So Ashton asked “Why didn’t you wrap your pigs in a blanket?”

When he realized that he made a play on words (pigs in a blanket) referring to the little rolled up  hotdogs that  is often served as appetizers he laughed. It was OK for him to laugh at that question, but it was NOT  OK for Casey to join in.

It validates something I said last week in a blog about Casey’s body language. She is apparently  observing her own trial as a third party.  When she heard about a discussion of any body in any trunk, she needed to remain somber. A  jury will notice this. Even if it is a play on words, there is nothing funny about the context of the pig experiment in relation to the decomposition of  a child’s body  in a trunk.

To me the laughter not only says that Casey is looking at her trial as though it is someone else on trial, it  also shows a  sadistic  reaction on her part. She may be  getting a bit of a pleasure hearing about  Casey in the trunk as she most likely never really liked Caylee and found her a burden. Thus, she can laugh at this play on words.

This laughing  incident is just one more example of Casey’s odd and aberrant reactions in the  courtroom. All of these body language behaviors along with the evidence and the testimonies will be carefully considered when the jury deliberates and makes their final decision. www.drlillianglass.com

Day 9 Casey Finally Wears Black, Does NOT Cry When Court Is Recessed As Reporte

The defense team finally dressed Casey in black. Now  in my view,  the jury won’t be distracted by her manipulative outfits in baby colors to give the illusion of innocence. Black  says she is in mourning( even though it is not for Casey but for herself) and says she is taking this  seriously and is no  longer the little party girl. But they missed the fact she needs black pants not gray. Gray is a horrible color for someone to wear who is  on trial for their life. It is drab and depressing. So her teams  needs to go get her black pants to go with the black top .

She also needs to lose the swishy butt swager when she walks into of  and out the courtroom especially if she wants to rid herself of the part  girl image.

Also she needs to loose the Snooki do.  Snooki do says party girl and subconsciously that will be picked up with her hair do in my view so she needs to stop with the  hair teasing in front.. She needs to stick to one hairstyle and leave it at that. When a jury sees her changing up her do they won’t like it and think she is being too self absorbed with her appearance.

As soon as the proceeding began for jury selection on Day 9, Judge Perry was very friendly to Jose Baez. He seemed very happy to see him and had a warm lilt in his voice and a smile directed towards Baez. So any talk that the judge doesn’t like Baez  and is being biased isn;t accurate. He seemed genuinely happy to see Baez.

As soon as Baez opened his mouth he didn’t sound like his peppy self on Day 9.  He seemd a bit monotone which was out of character for him. When attorney Fryer got up in court and told Judge Perry that he couldn’t swear in the jury separate  from the alternates, he let her have it with his brilliance and knowledge. He was very polite to her whens he finished and complimented her on having done a good job.

While Jeff Ashton is an accomplished attorney, he needs to slow down when he speaks and flow out his tone and  stop speaking in such a staccato tone.  Even the judge tells him to slow down all the time. When he sounds so choppy it is alienating. That is no doubt why one of the perspective male 42 year old  jurist,  got so defensive with him. The juror  did not get defensive towards Linda Drane Burdick. If Jeff Ashton doesn’t want to alienate jurors and witnesses,  he needs to change his tone and only use his staccato and hostile sounding tone when he wants to stress a point. Otherwise it does not make him likeable. He needs to use that tone  with Cindy Anthony when she starts her shenanigans or with George ans Lee.

Personally I think there may be a dramatic change in Cindy and George and Lee’s testimony and in their demeanor. I do’;t think they will allow themselves to be used as mitigating factors. I can’t imagine that they will admit to sexually molesting or abusing Casey or Caylee. After George and Cindy hear the details and the other;s testimony as they sit in the courtroom they may have a different perspective.

Casey appeared to have more of  a wide eyed  distant stare today as she listened to the jurors. I don’t know if she is on medication  or not but she appeared to look a little zoned out. At least she was not having an anxiety attack.

While we have all seen the hair of Casey playing with the front of her hair, she has now graduated to playing with her very long pony tail. This may very well we out of nervousness. That is why she needs to keep her hair back in a bun so she can stop fiddling with it an distracting jurors. When she plays with her hair it makes jurors think that she is self absorbed and  superficial as she seems to be overly concerned about her appearance. As we discovered,  that will be one of her mitigating factors- her  being raised to be concerned with outward appearances. If that is the case maybe all the hair grooming will work in her favor. But it can go either way. Jurors may or may not not buy it.

And last but not least Casey was NOT crying  as reported by mainstream media. She simply touched each respective eye  for less than  second after  she stood up when the court was recessed. There were no tears at that time.

Judge Belvin Perry’s Body Language Showed He was “Bouncing” Mad While Reprimanding Prosecution’s Jeff Ashton

Whenever Casey Anthony case Judge Belvin Perry gets upset or wants to make a serious point, it comes out in his body language in the form of a bounce. He tends to be even keeled in his tone and in his facial expressions and in his demeanor. But when he is upset at someone or agitated or really wants to make it a point to get his points across, he speaks more slowly and he tends to “bounce” up and down in his seat. Perhaps it is his body’s way of releasing and expressing his emotions.

Mostly, his bounces have been often  seen when he has reprimanded Jose Baez or has been annoyed with him. He also bounces when he gives his instructions, as an indicator that he is serious and means business and wants his orders followed exactly as he says.

Judge Perry stated that the location where they will be doing Jury selection is secret and that he only plans to tell one member of each team in advance. That person who was told would be responsible for telling the other members of the team and that as long as they left by 8AM they would be able to get to the location on time. Perry stated that the attorneys are banned from disclosing the location to anyone, including their families.

So when Jeff Ashton stood up in the courtroom and said that his family would like to know where he is, Judge Perry was hopping,  bouncing mad. Perry’s voice even got a bit louder as Ashton continued to object with his arms spread out and palms up as he displayed an open mouthed  surprised expression at Judge Perry’s instruction .

While bouncing in his chair, he said to Ashton “You are not going to be able to tell your family .” He then said he had no jurisdiction over Ashton’s family and that” if it was problem for you then you needed to speak to Mr. Lamar  to see if he could replace you.”

Those were VERY powerful words and indciated that Judge Perry was extremely upset by Ashton’s outward  defiance and questioning his order.

While this was going on,  the one person who was loving the interchange was Jose Baez. He was smiling and smirking as he heard Perry’s  harsh words to Ashton.  Jose’s raised cheek smile indicated  his genuine smile and happiness at the situation.

Jose was enjoying this so much that he had to  turn away from looking at Ashton  as he  covered his mouth with his hand  to stifle his  giggles. As you can see from the photo above no one else in the courtroom seemed  to  be enjoying this interchange between Judge Perry and Ashton as much as Baez. Linda Drane Burdick is looking on in seriousness as is everyone else.

Perhaps nothing would make Jose  happier than seeing his biggest adversary,  Ashton replaced by Mr, Lamar as Judge Perry suggested if  Ashton could not abide by Judge Perry;s request.  Jose  was  no doubt loving the fact that it was now Ashton’s turn to feel Perry’s heat and  experience his wrath that Baez has no doubt experienced so often inthe courtroom .

The bottom line is that what  Judge Perry says goes, and there is no arguing. His interchange with Ashton shows that he is fair and shows no favoritism to any of the attorneys. It is  yet another example of Judge Perry’s seriousness and  his  admirably taking charge of his courtroom. www.drlillianglass.com

Casey Anthony Jury Consultant Seen on 48 Hours Only Did “Focus Group” Which Acquitted Casey Anthony, Not A “Mock Trial” Which May Have Given A Different Result

I saw  the 48 hours piece where they showcased Casey Anthony . They used a lot of early footage from a previous 48 hours before Caylee’s bones were discovered. The reason they most likely  aired it  again  in my view,  and just added a few elements like Linda Baden’s opinion and the focus group by Richard Gabriel,  was simple – ratings and sweep season.

Sweep season is the time of year when shows and networks do everything in order to garner huge ratings. If they do get the ratings during April and May, they get top advertising dollar for their show. So in my view that is why viewers saw the show again.

ISNT LINDA KENNY BADEN SUPPOSED TO REMAIN SILENT AS A FORMER ATTORNEY FOR CASEY?

As far a Linda Kenny Baden is concerned, isn’t she supposed to remain quiet as a former attorney for Casey? Aren’t  attorneys supposed to never speak about a client or their case if they are no longer representing the person? Aren’t there some ethics that they have to abide by in this regard? Personally, since she was a member of the defense team in the past, she has no business discussing the case, especially on the air.

I could understand it is she was a legal commentator and it wasn’t a case she was involved with, but to me it verges on being a bit unethical. She admitted that Casey lied and then on the next breath said there was no DNA on the duct tape and that it didn’t have Casey’s or Caylee’s DNA on it. Of course it wouldn’t have anyone’s DNA on it if it was underwater for months and months and eaten by animals and plant growth was on it.

The fact that duct tape was anywhere near Caylee says enough to me if I was a juror.  It wouldn’t matter if it had Caylee or Casey’s DNA on it. Just the fact that it was near her and that the  child was dead would make me put two and two together in  terms of what Casey did with that duct tape in relation to Caylee.

Then when Linda admitted Casey lied and was so nonchalant about it, I found it appalling. She in essence said, so what if Casey lied!  That doesn’t mean that if she lied,  she murdered Caylee. Well,  Ms. Baden, it also can mean that if she lied, she didn’t NOT murder Caylee.  Casey didn’t just lie to a boyfriend or to her parents. She lied to law enforcement which is HUGE! She send them on a wild goose chase which is HUGE!!!! A jury will hate that!

FOCUS GROUP IS NOT A MOCK TRIAL OR A REAL TRIAL

I thought that the focus group was  very misleading to viewers. It  gave the impression that a  mock trial was done and Casey was not found guilty of first degree murder. This was only a focus group . It was was NOT  a mock trial. The focus group evidently acquitted  her of first degree murder. All of  those in the  focus group  gave her involuntary manslaughter. They said it was an accident and that poor Casey was afraid to tell anyone or call her parents.

In a real trial it is essential to know who is on that jury. Who were the people on this jury? Were they  young single mothers who identified with Casey? Were there people who didn’t get along with their parents? Were there any men who may have an affinity for Casey?

JURY SELECTION

During jury selection these perspective jurors will be asked a multitude of questions before they are accepted by BOTH sides to serve on the jury. Baez and Gabriel will want to choose people who were young single moms, girls who like to party or partied hearty in the past, non educated people white single men in their 20’s,attractive young women and men, non religious people, people who have had problems with their parents  in the past and still do, people who have been sexually molested in the past, people who have not been that responsible in their lives.

The prosecution will want scientific type people, educated people who don’t have any difficulty understanding the English language, Latinos (who tend to be very family oriented), strong Black women who are no nonsense, men and women tend to be very family oriented, people with no parental issues, no sexual molestation or abuse issues, responsible people, professionals, single  mothers who work and have a job.

When you do jury selection it is not based on political correctness. Instead, it is often based on cultural  behaviors of certain sex , educational,  racial, and ethnic groups as well as behavioral manifestations. To be a great jury consultant you have to know people from all walks of life and how they most likely think.

Richard Gabriel is a  very good jury consultant as he has done it for many years and even wrote a book on the subject. That is why I am very concerned about him. He will choose the very best jury to benefit Casey, just as he chose the best focus group which acquitted Casey.

The prosecution needs to be up to par with Gilbert or even better and one step ahead of him. Unfortunately the prosecution has decided to not use a jury consultant as they want to do this on their own because of budgetary and who knows what else reason. Those in charge of the attorneys have naively stated that they want to treat the Anthony case just like they treat their other homicide cases in Central Florida and not get caught up in the media frenzy.

Personally I think they are being extremely naive. This is the case of the century besides OJ .  This case requires a LOT of special attention especially since they have Richard Gilbert on the defense team . If they get someone locally do help them out they will be doing themselves a huge disservice. They need someone equal to or savvier than Gilbert who can really read people and who can make sure that someone has not leaked into the jury box who with certain prejudices  which may be harmful to the prosecution and justice being served.

You not only need jury selection expertise who need someone in the courtroom for two months of the trial who is looking at each of the jurors and scrutinizing them when you examine and cross examine the witness to see how they are perceiving you. You need to see which juror is with you and which ones aren’t. Only an astute jury consultant can tell you what is really going on.

A JURY WILL NOT LIKE CASEY REGARDLESS OF THE EVIDENCE WHICH MAY SUPPORT HER CASE

Casey cannot control her behaviors. Her arrogance and aberrant behaviors will surface just as they surfaced every time  she appeared in the courtroom thus far.

We have all seen her up close and personal and frankly she is not likeable. They will also detest Cindy when she gets up on the stand and they will be repulsed by brother Lee. Some may find sympathy for George while others will detest him as well. When they see the jailhouse tapes of him they will see kowtowing he is towards Casey and will not respect him in the least. So Casey’s dysfunctional family which she obviously runs and controls will have a negative impact on how the jury perceives her.

A jury will like Jose in my view who may very well be her only saving grace int he trial. No matter what you think of Jose and his lack of experience  and past behavior a jury will like him more than they like anyone else on Casey’s team.As they say in Portuguese , he is less worse.  A jury will be completely turned off by Cheney Mason if he keeps touching and whispering to Casey and is accepting of her flirtations. They will wonder what is going on between the two of them.

In contrast the jury will love Linda Drane Burdick’s professionalism and demeanor and will respect Jeff Ashton’s bold and direct and no nonsense approach.

Who is on that jury is the key to what will happen to Casey Anthony. Friday Judge Belvin Perry said that he would keep the cameras on when they have jury selection. That will be awesome to see. I can’t wait to watch it.

Having just done jury selection on a capital case in Orlando, Florida last month, since I chose a jury of six plus one alternate. It may be different in Casey’s case but I don’t think so. Everything will rest on what they think and feel about Casey and what they think she did or didn’t do to Caylee.

A defendant may have all the evidence working in their favor and the best attorneys, but if the jury can’t stand you or doesn’t believe you, you can forget about it. To many jurors, fact that Casey lied to law enforcement means that she could easily lie about what she did or did not do to innocent little Caylee.

WHAT ACCIDENT????

When Cindy said that Caylee was not Casey’s  child, she belonged to all of them it spoke volumes to Then when she denied that Casey had a problem with her she was either in denial or lied .  Of course Casey had a problem with her or she wouldn’t be in the predicament she is in. Cindy told Casey that she wad going to throw her out and keep Caylee so Casey left with Caylee. The reason why Casey did whatever she did to Caylee was because of Cindy and their relationship in my view. Cindy was large and in charge and tried to take over. Casey resented it and in her sociopathic passive aggressive way eliminated Caylee from the picture.

‘I don’t buy that it was an accident as some of the focus group attendees said in the 48  Hours piece. Even if Casey gave Caylee chloroform to put her to sleep and then  put the duct tape over Caylees mouth to keep her quiet in case she woke up in the trunk where she was placed so that Casey could party this is not an accident. Even if  Casey was too drunk and accidentally placed the duct tape over Casey’s nose and mouth  instead of  just her mouth, that was not an accident in my view. Even if Caylee drowned in the pool, that was not an accident in my view. How can a child drown in a pool if a parent is there holding the child? If Casey was on her cell phone and left Caylee in the pool by herself that is not an accident. Subconsciously Casey wanted Caylee gone and out of her life and proof of that was her partying when Caylee went missing.

There is no excuse or explanation one could manufacture for that to happen. Deep down Casey resented Caylee and any “accident” was done subconsciously  on purpose in my view. I hope that the prosecution will probe into this so that no juror comes away thinking that Caylee’s death was an accident. When an accident happens there is an immediacy of dealing with it- not 31 days later. And her fear of her mother is bogus. As a jury will see from the jailhouse tapes,  Casey  ran both her father and her mother!  The only “accident” was that Casey considered Caylee a huge  accident when she became  pregnant with Caylee and lost her social freedom. Tragically,  Casey made Caylee pay for that” accident”  with her life.

Does the Defense’s Expert Witness Psychiatrists Have Psychological Test Results In Addition to Information on What Casey Allegedly Told Them?

There is no doubt in my mind that Casey may have  manipulated the defense  psychiatrists like she has manipulated everyone else with whom she has been in contact  to date, as  we have seen. Who knows whether she and her defense team concocted something for her to “reveal”  to the psychiatrists that  would help her case .Who knows if she thought of it on her own.

 Did she tell them that:

George and Lee molested her or molested Caylee? Did she tell them Caylee drowned in an accident when Zanny the Nanny was at watching  her and that she was protecting Zanny? Did she say she was afraid Zanny would kill her and that is why she didn’t come clean in 31 days? Did she say that she did research in renting the movies about a killer and kidnapper  so that she could glean some insight in her own investigation as to whom may have taken Caylee?

What ridiculous story did Casey most probably  concoct to both of the psychiatrists?  Needless to say that if  she told them anything, it would have to be  written in their notes and as part of their assessment.

THE  REALITY  ABOUT SOME  EXPERT WITNESSES

Now let’s talk about Expert Witnesses. These  psychiatrists are expert witnesses for the defense. They are paid by the defense team and are retained by the team ONLY  because they offer something that could be valuable to the case or help to discredit the other side.

Some expert witnesses are more credible than others. Some expert witnesses like myself will NEVER take on a case just for the money just to say what the attorney wants in order to help win their case.

I have turned down numerous  cases because I refuse to play that game. I live with myself and in my own conscience and could NEVER compromise my dignity for money or fame or anything else. I never have and never will do such a  thing.

Unfortunately there are others whom I have seen who are not as discriminating or forthright. Their motivations whether it be financial or otherwise are such that they will do whatever is wanted for whatever their reason , They may not believe in the case or in  the client,  but if the money is right, they will often do it.

WHAT ABOUT ANY  PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING DONE ON CASEY ANTHONY?

Aside from  what Casey may have revealed to the psychiatrists on the defenses side,  I want to know what tests were given to Casey., Was she given the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality test) to help get a real look into her psyche. Was she given a battery of  other psychological testing such as projective tests, or tests to analyze her  perceptual and cognitive abilities, neurolinguistic test, other tests. This  is essential to know.

If the defense has offered up  their psychiatrists I believe that the state needs to have their own experts in the field to see if their views differ from those of the defense. Chances are they will differ greatly,

If the psychiatrists has videotapes their sessions with Casey, I would love to  see Casey’s  sessions  so that I can pick up any body language cues to see if she as manipulating them or lying to them. I don’t know if  many of the psychiatrists would recognize these signals since  most are not trained in that arena.

If they do offer  up a tape, audio or video, the state  definitely needs to check those tapes and do  a behavioral analysis, looking  for  signals of deception throughout the tape. They need to  offer up the results from someone like me to help refute the testimony on the defense psychiatrists.

THE MMPI

If the defense didn’t do a battery of tests on Casey, the state definitely  needs to do it and offer up those results to the jury. The MMPI is the most comprehensive form of testing and measures so many variables. It is  a long and exhausting test that can give a complete picture of a person  fromHypochondriasis concern with bodily symptoms, Depression Depressive Symptoms,  Hysteria Awareness of problems and vulnerabilities , Psychopathic Deviate Conflict, struggle, anger, respect for society’s rules, Masculinity/Femininity Stereotypical masculine or feminine interests/behaviors, Paranoia Level of trust, auspiciousness, sensitivity, Psychasthenia Worry, Anxiety, tension, doubts, obsessiveness ,Schizophrenia Odd thinking and social alienation, Hypomania Level of excitability, and even  Social Introversion, just  to name a few of what is examined in the testing. There are also many other variables which I have not mentioned here.

Because the test is so well researched and so highly reliable, and provides an objective measurement of a person’s personality, it is often used in court cases to give personality assessments of defendants where psychological information is  important to the case.

I believe that it is  certainly is important in the Casey Anthony case and therefore must be offered up in court in my view since it provides valid descriptions of a defendants problems and characteristics in clinical language.

I hope that the state wins the motion to not allow any of the information of the defense’s so called psychiatric experts . To me it will be a waste of time especially if there is no formalized testing from Casey to back up what she told them. The state said they were concerned about the impact of what the two psychiatrists would reveal if they were made public. As expected,   the defense  objected to this motion.

The state’s Jeff Ashton said that   since the defense’s  experts claims rely on what Anthony told them, it would be impossible to verify the claims without having Casey herself take the stand. This is definately the case in my view. Frankly I think Casey should take the stand. I would love to hear things from her mouth and to see how he story has changed over time. I would lloe to see and hear her body language nuances as she testifies ont he stand.

So this Friday we will find out what Judge Perry has to say as to whether or not we will be seeing the two psychiatrists taking the witness stand in the near future.  www.drlilianglass.com

Casey Anthony and Her Family’s TOXIC Behavior and Image Leave Negative Impression In the Courtroom

Whether you like it or not, image is very important when it comes to how people perceive you. It can make a huge difference in terms of whether or not  people believe what you say. This is especially important in a courtroom where a jury decides your fate.

Image wise the entire Anthony family needs  a complete overhaul in my view. The way they present themselves is unacceptable and this will no doubt  have a huge impact on how the jury relates to them.

One thing I can say for sure is that Casey’s family will not be endearing themselves to a  jury. For one thing, Casey, Cindy, and Lee all look  and dress slovenly.  The entire family including George dress and comport themselves inappropriately. This  contributes to  each one of them coming across as unlikeable.

GEORGE ANTHONY

George may be the cleanest looking of the group,  but as a witness he needed to show some respect and come to court in a suit,  or at least a tie. He needed to show that he was the man in the household, not the boy, wearing casual attire with his purple casual shirt.

What is totally inappropriate is his constant gum chewing! Here is a personal message from me to George.

“ George you are not watching a ball game where you can casually chew away on your gum as you watch the innings. This is not a baseball field or  casual sporting event.  It is a courtroom where your daughter may die a very painful death if she is found guilty of killing your granddaughter.

When you enter a courtroom you must always be respectful. Being respectful is NOT CHEWING GUM and looking like a bovine chewing their cud!  So before you enter the courtroom, take a Kleenex that Cindy no doubt carries in her purse to dab away the tears she knows she will  be crying as she watches Casey either get life imprisonment or the death penalty, and SPIT OUT YOU GUM!

Next stop mugging and making those ridiculous “poor me victim” facial expressions. Sit there like a man and not a little boy. Stop mugging and responding  nonverbally when you don’t like what is heard in the courtroom. It was disconcerting when you did it while  detective Yuri Melich was testifying. It made you look like an immature baby. You had your chance on the stand and now it is his turn to speak his truth.

Remember that jurors will be watching you and if you keep acting like that you will be creating more harm for your “beloved” daughter Casey, Besides finding this behavior obnoxious, it will affect your  credibility with them.   If you can’t contain yourself, for goodness sakes, don’t bother showing up!

How you can show up in the courtroom to watch Casey  in the first place is beyond me.Your daughter has accused you of sexually molesting her when she was a young girl  .  This is a very serious charge that could land you in prison if it is true since  there is no statute of limitations for a sexual crime.

If it is not true,  how can you show up in the courtroom and look at someone who falsely accused you and where  your reputation is now destroyed forever? Where is your self-esteem?

If it is true how, how can you show your face in public? How can you have the audacity to show up in the courtroom and add insult to injury?  If you did molest Casey, there is no doubt that you contributed to where she is today, If you did what she said you did to her, then you deserve to be in a prison cell just like your daughter.

LEE ANTHONY

Lee has been beyond repulsive to watch and has made a horrible impression in my view, as he gave his testimony. The first thing was showing up slovenly and dirty looking in a casual  black golf shirt with a tee shirt underneath, baggy non pressed  pants  and  white sneakers. He needed  to at least  show up wearing  a dress shirt and a tie to show some respect. Instead he looked as though he just crawled out of bed.

Unshaven and unkempt, he kept picking at the side of his face as though he was about to squeeze a pimple.  If he wasn’t squeezing his face, he was scratching himself  like someone does when they have  scabies or crabs. I am not saying that Lee Anthony has this,  I am saying that it makes him look like one would not want to get too physically close to him. It was a turn off.  Jurors would find his disgusting and sickening behavior difficult to watch for any length of time.

I already did a blog on the content of Lee’s  testimony which I am sure would never  endear him to any  jury as no one likes a sneak , a self entitled,  lying two faced betrayer , who has no boundaries, and who is more concerned about himself  and getting an apprenticeship with a private investigator than finding his niece Caylee.

CINDY ANTHONY

Cindy has put in a lot of weight over these past 2 ½ years and no one can hold that against her at all. She is either stress eating to cope with all  that this before her or she has perhaps  been given some medications  like antidepressants which may  have contributed to her weight gain. Whatever the case it makes no difference if a person is thin or heavy.

What does matter is how you dress yourself when your body has changed. That also includes one’s hairdo. When one has put on excessive weight the last thing they should do is get a short haircut.  Cindy’s hairdo was less than flattering. She needed to keep it longer – chin length like she has it  this summer.

Cindy has dressed in ways that are less than flattering. She came into the courtroom with a white sweater ,  a mismatched  long dress and casual flat  sandals  She wasn’t going to a casual  pool party or walking on the beach. She was in a courtroom. She needed to wear a closed toe shoe to show some courtroom decorum and not show her bare toes and feet through barely there sandals.

While you may think this is superficial,  it counts when you are talking about jury perception and likeability.

And speaking of likeability, while Cindy was a lot better  on the stand than she has been in the past (remember her finger pointing and insulting remarks to Zanaida Gonzales telling her she was no 10 and making her cry?) she still needs to lose the “attitude. ”  and negative defensive whine.

She needs to answer the questions  psoed to and not interject in victim- like fashion “I’m trying to answer the question!” We regularly see  Cindy’s controlling nature emerge and it is disconcerting. It will work against her in the courtroom as jurors will find her unlikeable and not credible.

The courtroom is the place where the lawyers and the judge has control- not Cindy. her try and take control  Her defensive tones and hyper precise answers  and contentiousness are complete  turn offs to any jury . After a  while they tune out and just hear a series of  mean sounding bitchy tones that have no  more relevance to them.

Cindy’s ‘attitude “  comes out in her facial expressions, She comes across mean looking and nasty. This will  definitely not endear her to any jury. They will not like what they see or what they hear. Their negative perception of Cindy will definitely not help Casey.

If she ever  pulls one of her “Caylee is still alive” stunts, a jury will become deafened as to what esle she has to say.

 CASEY ANTHONY

The first day of trial, Casey  wore an inapproriate  red sexy V necked tight form  fitting pullover.

Maybe Baez’s jury consultant told  Casey to  put on a jacket over it which she did the next day. She wore an ill fitting grey jacket that was three sizes too big. Maybe it was one of the jackets that her former attorney Andrea Lyons  left behind for her to wear. Needless to say,  it was  less than flattering. The shoulders were way too big and she looked ridiculous in it. This would be very distracting and annoying to a jury.

Day one Casey had her hair pulled back in a ponytail, yet she managed to fiddle with it and groom herself. A jury won’t like to see that behavior. They will perceive it negatively as Casey caring more about how she looks  than about the trial.

Day three Casey had in the same ill fitting gray jacket with one of the Andrea Lyon puffy sleeved greenish blue blouses we saw early on.

The collar was too big as was the jacket and now Casey kept fiddling with the collar and with the jacket as you can see in the photo above.  In addition, Casey did not tuck in the blouse.  Instead, she wore it out and the bottom of the blouse could be seen under her short cropped ill fitting jacket.  This made her look sloppy. It is perceived as her not caring – not caring to tuck her blouse into her pants.

Also gray is never the color you want someone to wear who may be facing death row. Unless it is a dark winter gray or a silver gray, it can be perceived  as a sad color.

I am serious when I say sad color. Studies have shown that certain colors have a specific effect on people’s emotions.   Pepto-Bismol pink  or bubblegum pink has been show to have a soothing effect on people while red makes people feel agitated and light blue makes you feel sleepy. Gray has been found to be perceived as  depressing. So never underestimate the perception of  a color that is worn.

The Anthony family needs to take their lead from the attorneys and the other witnesses who have appeared thus far. Jose Baez is the best dressed with his  crisp shirts, matching ties and matching pocket scarf and well fitted suits. Jeff Ashton looks decent with a suit and a tie. The Anthony men needed to have followed suit- literally!

The Anthony women needed to take their lead from Linda Drane Burdick. She wears a women’s suit to show respect. She does not  wear a dress, a white sweater, or sandals or a form fitting sweater or an ill fitting jacket.

If Jose Baez’ team hired a jury consultant why has he not shared this information with the Anthony family? Why has he not informed  each one them of how important their image is to a jury ?

Perhaps  he isn’t aware of this. Some jury consultants may very well not be aware of this . They may be focusing on other things. But this is extemely important.

I certainly am aware of this as a jury consultant when I pick a jury. I make sure that all my clients  are well groomed and appropriately dressed, and most of all that they and their families  act appropriately  so that they can get the fair trial they deserve.

I make them never forget that the jury not only watches them, but has an eagle eye out on everyone related to them  and everything those people  do as well. www.drlillianglass/ com
