Cindy Anthony Continues to Explain Away Deposition Discrepancies AS She Tries to Protect Casey

As soon as Cindy Anthony was sworn in and took the stand she gave a slight smile as she look at daughter Casey. As soon as she was told by Jose Baez, Casey Anthony is your daughter, she tightened her lips and pursed them together looked down and closed her eyes as you can see above. This means that deep down she as not very happy about Casey Anthony being her daughter.

Before the questioning began by Baez, we see her literally rolling up both sleeves of her white sweater which she wears to every court  hearing. She knows that this examination and cross examination will be fraught with a lot of tension. So  body language wise she is getting ready and preparing herself for all of the unpleasantness that is yet to come.

Yet she remained as obnoxious and defensive as ever as she tried to protect Casey and not reveal anything which may be construed as being incriminating towards her daughter. She was trying to explain way too much after being asked simple questions.

This indicates that the person often  has something to hide as they feel compelled to give away too much information as a means of compensation. They know what the truth really is but they feel that by over explaining they will convince you towards their point of view. It is an obvious way of trying to cover things up as Cindy was clearly trying to do on the stand.

The prosecution got so sick of what she was doing that they objected. Instead of sitting there respectfully, Cindy obnoxiously throws up her hands  in victim-like form and defensively says ” well he asked me..” referring to Baez’ questioning  her.  Yes, Cindy, he did ask you a simple question but he did not ask you to go on and on and on and on and on and on like you did.

In continuing to be her obnoxious self, as well as trying her best to protect  Casey, when asked what  she retrieved from the car, she said Casey   left one of her work purses in the car—By now Cindy clearly knows Casey was fooling her and that she had no job and was not working. Yet she manages to throw in there  the words Casey and work” in the same sentence  in an attempt to wrongly  plant the impression to the jury that Casey was working when she knows full well that this is not the case.

She then goes on to say how she practically sprayed the whole can of Fabreez (fabric softener into the car to get rid of the dead body smell. Then she goes on to explain way too much about how long the car doors and trunk were  opened and how she left the doors open and shut it again and how after police came  the car was pulled out of garage, She talks way too much instead of answering the simple question.

Cindy Busted By Prosecution As She Is Caught Contradicting Herself

Cindy showed a signal of deception as she said she used a whole can of Fabreeze while she was on the stand ,  but in her  deposition she said  dyer  sheets were in the car . She  now contradicts herself.

When she is busted, she looks down like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar and looks away and hems and haws. She finally blames it on the new medication she took while she did her deposition.

Then she BS’s and says she finally “remembered” about the fabric softener. No doubt she “remembered” after perhaps reading what she said in her deposition.

Cindy is forced to admit that the smell she smelled was the worst smell she smelled in her life. She had to add “at the time ” as a means of couching things and making then appear less serious. What does she mean “at the time?” Has she smelled such a horrible odor since then? As she says this her body language reveals that she really doesn’t want to   say  this as she squints her eyes shut and purses her lips together.

Casey seems to appreciate Cindy’s attempt at trying to protect her behind as she gives a tight-lipped smirk indicating that she is pleased with her mother’s performance on the stand.

Casey;s sadistic little smile was also no doubt indicative of  her  delight in  that her mother  was suffering emotionally  by displaying   some  outward distress, inner conflict and turmoil.  http://www.drlillianglass.com

  1. Dr. Glass as usual the Photos and descriptions of lies and emotions are glaringly apparent–To think she practiced this and probably had a dress rjehearsal. No explaining this new event.

  2. So who told her to say that she used a can of febreze, knowing that it would contain chloroform? Febreze can dissipate rather quickly. It is no match for decomp. I wonder if the state is doing tests on febreze/chloroform to see how well it would retain its potency?

      1. What was more “toxic” Fabreeze or Casey? Does she have to “loook up” Casey Anthony to find out or does she already know?

    1. If there was “any potency” in Fabreeze it would be taken off the market. After all, Fabreeze wants repeat customers.

  4. Febreeze doesn’t come in a can, never has – it’s in a plastic bottle like Windex glass cleaner. Also, way back when, I worked as a P&G research chemist, & can tell you that chloroform was never a component of any consumer product they ever made for any country, domestic or foreign. That chemical was banned by the US EPA in 1976 for use in consumer products. At least Cindy told the truth about not having come into contact with chloroform on the job as an RN. jmo

      1. I think the confusion is that Febreeze has air freshner and fabric softner, and Cindy is confusing the two.

When he finds Jennifer Kesse and Trenton D. and anyone else that is missing in Orange County i’ll vote. Kronk found Caylee not Yuri and besides who leaves a car smelling of decompostion at a suspects home and not secure it? What a joke

  5. This woman infuriates me to no end. If this woman would have called her daughter out on her lying, roughly around the age she could first speak and not roll along with her chirades all these years, this trial may not be taking place. I agree a psychopath is a psychopath but enviroment lessens or makes more the impact they have. Cindy needs to stop the jury sees through her bs she is sentancing her daughter by infuriating the jury.

  6. Casey also mouthed “thank you” to her mother as she passed while leaving the stand. And yes, she did owe her mother a thank you for all the lying her mother just did for her sorry behind.

  7. Good article. No matter how much time goes by, Cindy Anthony still seems to have no clue as to how she is perceived by others which would allow her to learn to “fake it” and appear to be a nice and honest person. Ok, she’s not screaming and yelling and waving hammers around any more…but she still infuriates rather than ingratiates whenever she opens her mouth. Frightening that someone so constantly sneaky, manipulative and dishonest once worked as a registered nurse.

  8. Excellent post Dr. Glass
Would you please go to youtube
    to
    CMA Hearing 04/01/11 Part 10
    it is by SomeRandomName.

It shows Casey with the help of Jose and Cheney totally flipping us all the bird. Your body language analysis would be fantasic on that video. They are giggling and laughing about it, and all 3 of them were in on it.

Casey points her finger to where she wants Jose to stand so he does not block the camera.
Then when he is out of the way, she flips us all off in a very casual manner than giggles and laugh and mason covers his face but they all are laughing about how clever and smart and quick that Casey is.
    she is eating up how popular and cool she is with her “boys” Please Dr. Glass you just have to see it to believe it. There is no sound with this video because the court was taking a break, but I know if you see it, you will know it was a planned out thing ;

Would love to hear you comment on that one!

    1. Yes, I saw that too..how infantile are they? They being the entire defense team..they act like a bunch of children and I was ready to bring them a playpen…I don’t see CMason’s reputation of being a grand attorney when he too engages in this infatile manner. Where is this 40+ years of experience? How can he make a mockery of the justice system and of a precious childs premature death…a death that wasn’t natural, a death that appears to have been premediated…I’m appalled at them all..you can’t expect anything less from Baez who appears to have no ethics, no respect for the courtroom or those who are working to uphold the laws of the land but I did expect more from CMason..Mason’s last DP case with Nelson Serrano didn’t work well for him either…that man sits on death row…so I can only hope and pray this prisoner meets the same fate…JMHO

You would think they were in Junior High Study Hall, NOT in a Court Of Law.
There for the charge of first degree murder for their client Casey for killing her own 2 year old daughter.
All fun and games to them. then they complain how the media prejudices the potential Jury Pool, what a bunch of hypocrites.

  10. For years and years Cindy tried to protect Casey. But when Cindy decided that it was Caylee who needed protection this was a blow to Casey. Cindy said no more money and if you want to engage in adult behaviors, Caylee won’t be in the same bed with you. Cindy disappointed Casey and when you do this to someone who is “emotionally blind” and has no “emotional insight” you pay the price.

We know Mrs Anthony is damaged. We know she was in a “hightened state of alert” for years. She knows who she is looking at when she takes the stand. She knows what she has to say. She said the wrong thing on June 15, 2008 and she lost her grandchild. Say the wrong thing now and her daughter is gone forever.

I do not believe for a moment that Cindy Anthony wants Casey to be set free. Cindy has said on a couple of occassions that she supports Casey, “because I want to find out what happened”. The only way she will ever find out is by going to court and listening to both Mr Ashton and Ms Burdict. She wants to know if Caylee suffered. IMO, that’s her reason for living.

  11. Another great assessment, Dr. Glass but you are too kind to CA…she out and out told mistruths throughout her testimony…too bad Baez didn’t school her much better. IIRC, there were only two dryer fabric sheets in the trunk, which I assume the prisoner put there, not CA…in that trash bag from the tow yard, there were 5 dryer sheets…I wonder if CA realizes perjury carries jail time…but as we have seen, contrary CA will do her best to get this prisoner out of trouble…sorry to say, not this time…it’s not going to fly…
Why is CA denying Caylee Marie justice? Both parents have stated they do not know what happened to Caylee Marie and all they want is the truth! How can they find the truth when they themselves obfuscate from the truth! They appear to be perpetuating the prisoners lies which will come back and bite them…this prisoner will not walk out of prison a free woman…a jury of her peers will see the truth of what happened to Caylee Marie and it won’t be a pretty sight once they hear, Guilty as charged….then on to the penalty phase..
Justice for Caylee Marie is imperative…if this prisoner wanted her freedom more than she wanted to parent, she could have handed this precious child over to the state, if she thought her parents couldn’t raise her properly…she had many options and murder is not an option…
I also read into the defense trying hard to say, what happened to Caylee Marie was an unfortunate accident..What accident would put duct tape over a precious child’s airways, put her in the trunk of her car until she decides to dump precious Caylee Marie like trash in a watery tomb..the swamp at Suburban is no coincidence…this is where the prisoner hung out with childhood friends when they wanted to do whatever nefarious actions they did..also this was where these kids buried their pets…Was Caylee Marie a pet to this prisoner? I do believe the prisoner at one time loved being a mother that is until the novelty wore off…and her newfound friends with their freedom to come and go as they pleased for they had no children..but this prisoner did…when a jury hears the facts and that 31 days passed before the grandmother alerts authorities, it will be a done deal…JMHO

  12. Ironic when Cindy mouths “I love you” Casey’s response is”Me too”. What “me too”as in I love Casey too? Why wasn’t the response “I love you too”. I also noticed the sadistic, smug, tight lipped grin on Casey’s face. She really enjoys her mother’s unease and once again being the center of attention. Mr.Ashton could barely contain his disgust at Cindy’s lies.

  13. Marianne, I’ve watched a couple times. Casey is actually saying “Thank you” to Cindy-I’m-a-Liar-Anthony as she’s getting down from the stand.

You would think for a family that lies as much as the Anthonys they’d be better at it but they aren’t. They are terrible liars.

    1. Bees-All Cindy ever did when she told a lie is nail Casey’s coffin shut with “one lie on top of another”. Casey doesn’t know how to assimilate all the lies because they have been coming at her from all sides for three years. But what it comes down to is whose lies are “believable”.

The lies and the evidence will collide and although Cindy and George will finally know “what happened” they will also know that they can, with certainty, pick up the pieces of their lives and move on.

  14. It is hard for anyone of us to imagine the amount of pleasure Casey feels when others are hurting or when she is hurting others. She knows the words, “I love you” but not their meaning. She is literally and figuratively an empty vessel.

She knows who she is and doesn’t care. She will pull at her clothes, check on her mascara and look around to see if Zanny walks in the courtroom but at the end of the day she knows who she is and she’s happy in her own skin.

Those who lie for her and protect her have no chance of recovery unless they get the hell away and never, ever look back.

  15. Who will sit on Caylee’s side of the courtroom? A great-grandmother? A grand-aunt or uncle? Cindy & George can burn in hell. They need to support Caylee not Casey. Just because you raised a monster doesn’t mean you don’t cut ties when they devour the innocent. As evil as Cindy is at least she didn’t kill anyone. All Casey had to do was leave the baby with George and Cindy. Casey’s own words to Lee were that she killed Caylee out of spite.

  16. I wouldn’t think she killed Caylee out of spite. She said it but it doesn’t make it true. She heard the word before and was possibly accused of doing things “out of spite” in the past. The words were convenient but not truthful.

Mr and Mrs Anthony had visited a lawyer shortly after Caylee was born and made arrangements for Caylee’s financial well being in the event of their death(s). We can speculate that they also discussed adoption. Casey was told about this conversation and what was planned for Caylee. We know this because Casey Anthony robbed Caylee’s trust fund account and told LE that her parents would have taken Caylee if she couldn’t raise her.

Casey Anthony killed Caylee because she wanted to.

  17. This has been a very publicized trial we have seen the all we can of the Anthony family dysfunction. They have been capitalizing off little Caylee from day one with Caylee dolls, trying to patent her name the fued with Tim Miller ect. all the while not actively searching and dining at the Ritz Carolton. The Anthonys are all cut from the same cloth, the jury knows this. They lack integrity, and are oppertunists they exploited this babys death. I hope the jury will knock this self rightous girl and her family off there high horse. I can’t fathom the anger I would feel if Casey was my child, I think the moment found out my grandchild was missing for 31 days and she partied would be enough for me to flip. For that alone I would dis own and distance myself from her. Cindy’s denial was ludicris this is why her granddaughter is dead indirectly they are responsible for their worthless daughter and dead grandbaby.

  19. There are cracks in Cindy’s demeanor and when she is on the stand she slips. She will try to make up every excuse in the book for why she has trouble with the truth but it’s crystal clear to me that she never deviates from her first impression.

She never thought for a moment that her behavior would implicate Casey-that’s how stupid she really is. The police tracked her every move when she and her husband left the towyard/crime scene. Every thing they did after the fact implicated Casey as the killer. Cindy never believed for a moment that Caylee was alive because she knew first hand how violent Casey was. Casey did what she always did when asked to explain her misdeeds-she blamed someone else. Mrs Anthony called the police and reported the BABYSITTER – not Casey. Casey never had anything to do with the disappearance, abduction or kidnapping of her grandchild.

I would suggest before posting negative comments regarding Yuri Melich that you should have researched his accomplishments with the Homoside and Missing Persons units over the years, not to mention that he pulled a victim from a car that had overturned into a water-filled ditch. It seems only the Anthony family didn’t appreciate his efforts to determine who had their granddaughter when it was determined that their own daughter, not the imagine-nanny, was likely the killer of their only granddaughter. You wanted the truth and I suggest you deal with it by supporting justice for your granddaughter…you daughter is an adult, she had choices, and she made one.

  21. What else can be said of the despicable Cindy anthony. I can’t forget how she treated Tim Miller of TES, attempting to frame Zenaida Gonzales, Jesse Grund, Roy Kronk, Amy H, Ricardo Morales, etc. They could all have been “the rea Zanny” who took Caylee according to Cindy.

She’s a regular lying machine & for the past 3 years she’s been actively involved in a huge murder cover-up willing to send an innocent person to death row instead of Casey.

That makes her as vile & revolting As her baby killing evil spawn. She’s a hideous subhuman piece of rotten garbage.

When she tries to blame the smell of her dead grandchild on rotten food, maybe she smells her own filthy self.

How heartless and vicious of you, Dr Glass, to badger a woman who has been through hell and back from losing her beloved granddaughter and having her own little girl facing the death penalty for the killing. How would you act in the same situation? You should be ashamed of yourself. This woman is just trying to survive between a rock and a hard place. You’re a mean, mean woman. Ever heard of compassion and understanding?

    1. Sorry you feel like that. The grandmother has stood in the way of LE at every turn and tried to obstruct justice .She has and needs to be held accountable her actions. She helped put Casey in the position she is in by not setting boundaries and by allowing her aberrant behavior. Yes.it is tragic she lost her granddaughter and could lose Casey. If she would have sought therapy for Casey she might not be in this situation. I am not ashamed of anything as I speak the truth as I see it. I am not a mean mean woman, The mean woman has been Cindy who has abused many who tried to help her. Your anger is misdirected. You anger should be placed towards a woman who killed an innocent baby, not towards someone who believes the grandmother needs to be held accountable for her actions.

  24. I’m on the fence about Cindy. I do think Casey killed Caylee. While I think Cindy should be punished, I’m not sure she should be punished severely. Cindy unfortunately lost her grandchild, and was trying to save her own child from the death penalty. I can’t imagine being in that woman’s shoes. Could you knowingly help convict your own daughter? I’m not sure I could, even if I think she’s a murderer. Would I disown her? Absolutely. I would disown her in a second. But to help put my own child to death – no way. I also see your point of getting Casey help, but not everyone is a fit parent, and not all out of control teenagers turn into people who murder their children. I seriously doubt if Cindy knew that would happen, she would have done the same thing over. I imagine this is why Cindy is not being charged for anything.
