Misty Croslin Cumming’s Body Language Shows She’s In Denial As Well As “Tells” of Deception

Watching Misty Croslin Cumming’s body language on CBS The Early Show was very disconcerting. Her flat affect and lack of emotion shows that she is complete denial in terms of knowing what happened to her stepdaughter 5 year old Haleigh Cummings., whom she was babysitting when the girl disappeared.
Secondly, Misty is in denial about her failure to pass the polygraph, believing what someone told her that she failed it because she was the last one to see Haleigh and was so conerned about it.
Thirdly, she is in denial that Ron Cummings, the child’s father believes she had nothing to do with the child’s disappearance and that they might get back together in the future.
And finally, most important of all, she is in complete denial that she will never be arrested.
There were also inconsistencies with regards to her body language as signs of deception leaked out. When she says. “they need to stop focusing on me and focus on the person who has Haleigh, she raised her shoulders and pursed her lips- “ tells” of deception Then she goes on to say I feel it on the other side of the family who has her that’s how I feel” as she shrugs her shoulders.
Her stiff and rigid posture also are “tells” that she no doubt has something to hide.
Shaking her head “no” instead of shaking it in the affirmative when she says “ I love them kids.” Is also telling.
This is in contrast to her appropriately shaking her head in the affirmative when asked how all of this has been on her as she replies, “it has it been for her really hard.”
