Jodi Arias Musgshot Shows She’s Scared As Reality Finally Sets In

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 11.11.26 PMGone is the smug smile, the cockiness and the “I know I am going to eventually be a free woman” attitude.  Present is the fear based on her  tear glistened eyes, flat mid-face, pallid skin tone,  and  the tight muscle tension in her  lower jaw. Her autonomic nervous  system has taken over and gone into high gear. This is not the face of the Jodi we have come to know over the past seven years. It is a Jodi that just had the most severe reality check of her life- that she can no longer manipulate people or the system and that she will only leave prison in a pine box.

While she knew she would get punished for what she did to Travis,  there is no doubt that she thought she would be getting out in 25 years or less. As  this reality settles into her mind and soul, the once happy go lucky  Jodi with her dangerously  sickening sweet sing song voice will become more and more depressed as the drawn out long days stare her in the face.  When you do see photos of Jodi on the coming years, she may not look recognizable to you as her facial muscles will morph into giving her an whole different look and it will not be for the better.

In Perryville no one will be putting up with her shenanigans. Her  smug ” I am smarter  and better than you” arrogance will not do her any favors in prison among the other inmates.

Jodi is not a likable person and didn’t have many friends in life until she joined the Mormon church and then for the first time in her life,  found a whole new social life because of Travis.

While her new Mormon friends embraced her initially, they soon became wary of her. They felt something was off with her and ended up not liking her. Jodi did not learn how to make friends  and influence people throughout  her life. While she learned to manipulate, seduce, and blame others, she never learned how to genuinely connect with others. Her lack of social skills will not put her in good standing in prison. In fact, it will make her a moving target of hate from her fellow inmates.

So don’t be surprised if down the road,  you hear that Jodi has been involved in some type of attack or assault by fellow inmates. This is not wishful thinking. Jodi just happens to be a good candidate for being assaulted due to her cocky arrogance and the ” I’m better than you” air she gives off.

Jodi Arias’ Defiant Voice and Body Language During Sentencing Trial As She Sadistically Torment’s Travi’s Family

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.02.03 AMScreen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.41.28 AM

Jodi Arias’ tone of voice and her body language were defiant up until the end. When she states her case in her defiant overly self confident and arrogant tone, you see her shoulders straight as she has her head up and stands erect. But then after the verdict is read and she suddenly realizes she will never get out of prison alive and be a free woman, her body language demeanor dramatically changes, with her  being next to tears, slouched posture, and head forward with neck extended in  resignation.

It shows that Jodi actually thought she would manipulate the judge during her final statements and have the judge give her 25 years so that she would be a free woman by the time she was in her 50’s.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.17.35 AM

As the sentence was being  handed down, Jodi did not move as Judge Steve’s spoke . She stood there as  stiff as a board which indicates to me that she was in shock at the judge’s decision and that she actually believed the judge would grant her eventual freedom.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.41.52 AM

But then Jodi began to crack. as we can see from her body language and her  facial expression right after she processed that she didn’t get what she wanted and would never smell freedom again. Her shoulders began to slunch forward in resignation and submissiveness as the reality of her situation was setting in. There was also severe tension around her jaw and lip area as though she wanted to cry.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.46.39 AM

Then we see the tension in her lower facial  muscles as they bulge out, her nose becomes red, her eyebrows raise raise and forehead crinkle and eyes water as shown in  the photo above. Jodi is crying. Although she is trying to hold it together for her image, the media and the the public not seeing her natural reaction, she cannot do so. He body belies her true feelings of anger and frustration that she did not get what she wanted from the sentencing- being a free woman after a period of time.

But let’s go back to what happened before Judge Steven’s sentenced her and look at her mother’s behavior.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 5.38.04 AM

When we heard Jodi Aria’s mother speak at the  sentencing trial, we also heard defiance in her voice as well as she spoke. She said that her daughter was wrongly incarcerated as she said ”  seven years ago she was incarcerated because  she wanted to live”   What??? No, Mrs. Aria, your daughter was incarcerated because she macerated  her lover’s body and shot him in the head as he bled to death in agony in a shower.   Next she stated. “they can cage her, they can strip her of her rights but they can  never take away her beautiful soul.”  Beautiful soul ? Mrs. Arias, a  beautiful soul is not someone who did what she did to Travis  with 27 stab wounds and a bullet to the head  as well as  all of the lying  and manipulating as we saw her do often. After hearing Mrs. Arias finally  speak, we not only see how she is in clear denial. We get a glimpse as to why Jodi may have turned out the way she did. No doubt her mother was in denial about Jodi her entire life and refused to see Jodi’s abberant behaviors.

The fact that Arias’ mother smiled as she walked up in front of Judge Stevens to speak on her daughter’s behalf was chilling and validates how much in denial she appears to be in.

When Jodi Arias finally spoke at her sentencing  hearing the tone of her voice was cold, defiant. She managed to take one last sadistic stab in tormenting at Travis and his family so they can never have any peace of mind. When prosecutor Juan Martinez said that Travis’ family hoped that he was unconscious when Jodi took that knife to him for the last time, Jodi responded to Martinez’ statesment in graphic detail. She said ” I remember the last time when the knife went into Travi’s throat and he was conscious.”

That  statement says it all about who Jodi Arias is- a sadistic, mean, hateful  creature with no remorse who’s comment was designed  to torture the family who had hoped their brother  died with no pain at the end. But Jodi made sure that they knew that he was in pain and was not unconscious.

She then paused for several seconds, took a deep breath where she raised her shoulders ( a body signal of deception) and went on to say ” He still tried to attack me.” Considering the physical shape Travis was  in at the time, it is highly doubtful that he was trying to attack her at that moment. She then goes on to say, It was I who was trying to get away, not Travis.” She then says I never wanted it to be that way Judge…. ” She doesn’t say your honor or Judge Stevens. Instead she calls her judge which is another clear act of the passive aggressive defiance on Arias’ part.

When she said she was remorseful for the enormous pain she caused people who loved Travis.  it was said in a matter of fact monotone voice devoid of emotion. After what she said about Travis being conscious and  in essence feeling the pain at the time of his murder, there was no remorse on her part at all.

  • Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.02.03 AM

As she makes this incredulous statement, look at what Judge Steven’s is doing. The judge cocks her head in disbelief which is an indicator that she is well aware that Jodi is feeling no remorse for her brutal actions.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.20.34 AM

After hearing the coldness in Aria’s voice, her lack of remorse and her meanness and  cruel sadistic actions, she should not be allowed to live. The lone juror who voted that she not be put to death did not show up to court while all other 11 jurors showed up wearing blue in support of Travis; family as they sat in their old seats in the jury box That was telling and very moving. The dissenting juror was as cowardly and sadistic as Jodi Arias by not showing up and representing her decision.

But unknowingly the one dissenting  juror, thinking she was doing Jodi a huge service by sparing her life, will no doubt have turned out to do Jodi no favor at all. Jodi will suffer tremendously.

In the courtroom, immediately  after the sentencing one of Travis’ sisters yelled “burn in hell” This may be exactly what will happen to Jodi as she now makes her way to her new home of 86 square feet

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.28.47 AM

with a view from Jodi’s cell looking like this.

Screen Shot 2015-04-14 at 6.31.30 AM

.Past prisoners have found Jodi’s new home a living hell. The heat alone and being put out in metal cages when the hot Arizona sun is blistering down upon them is a hell in itself.

But Jodi will be allowed education classes and counseling sessions. No doubt she will get attention from the media at the various anniversaries  of her sentencing. And she will be allowed to interact with other prisoners where she has the opportunity to try her skills at manipulating them behind bars.  But she will often meet her match as there are many Jodi Aria’s types which will surround her and try their hand at manipulating her.

Because Jodi is so high profile it is a real possibility that another lifer with zero to lose who is sick of the whole process may try to kill Jodi for the notoriety. Others may want to mess hr up and may be willing to face the consequences. One thing is for sure, her arrogance and” I’m better and smarter than you”  attitude  along with her  perceived “high falootin'” vocabulary  and hyper articulation of her words will not be well received.

Based ont he way Jodi has presented herself thus far, she will not do well in prison, especiallyw hen it comes to interacting with others. As Travis’ sister wished, Jodi will rot in hell behind bars.

Now that she has been sentenced, there will of course be appeals.  But it is my view that no one mention this fame seeing sociopath again- that no specials or anniversary  shows be made to boost television ratings  and magazine sales. There is NOTHING more that can be said about Jodi unless she dies behind bars. We have heard it all – all her lies and all her psychopathology.  Her celebrity infamy needs to end now.

Jodi Arias was an attractive white young female who murdered an ex  boyfriend ,who in essence rejected her but still continued to have sex with her.  She killed him out of  anger and revenge and then claimed she had nothing to do with it. She got caught, tried, sentenced and will now be put away for her crime for the rest of  her life. This type of thing is not new and has happened many times to many people all  around the world.

The perpetrator  is punished, never to be thought of again. But it is the media that has made Jodi Arias into a star from the sensationalism of  48 hours to  other shows. The media  needs to stop and not revisit this mental case and  we need to stop watching and paying attention to Jodi and her soon to be tortured life behind bars.

Jodi Arias Allowed to Live As Travis Alexander’s Death Teaches Us About Trusting Our Instincts When We Realize Someone Is Toxic

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.01.24 PM

The verdict is out and  Jodi Arias will not die by lethal injection, nor by any other means, after slaughtering her ex boyfriend Travis Alexander. Even though 11 of the 12 jurors felt that death would be the right punishment for her, there was one lone juror who refused to commit to having Jodi put to death.

As someone who does jury selection and trial consulting for a living, you can never ultimately predict  what will happen in a real trial. Even if you ask jurors who are serving on a death penalty case if they could in fact choose death as one of their choices and they answer “yes”, when push comes to shove and they have to make the decision as to whether someone lives or dies, many cannot choose death after all..

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.00.47 PM

When the judge told the jury that they had to decide on an outcome after four days of deliberation, I knew that Jodi would most likely  not be put to death. Now she has to await the judges decision, which will occur in April,  as to whether she will spend life behind bars without parole or life with parole after two and a half decades when she will be in her mid fifties as you can see by this art rendering of her aging.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.05.06 PM

Whether or not she gets life or life without parole, there will be times at the harsh Perryville Prison  where Jodi will be baking in the scorching Arizona sun, in an open air cage, that she may very well have wished she received the death penalty when the other prisoners make her life a living hell.

The bottom line is that Jodi will be living under harsh conditions where she may spend most of her time in isolation in order to protect her from other prisoners  because she is such a high profile case. This could be the worst torture of all for Jodi Arias who thrives on attention and manipulation of others. If there is no one to manipulate or to give Jodi, her attention fix, life for her may not be worth living.

In any event, one does not have to be killed to receive just punishment as Jodi will soon discover in her new home.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.04.28 PM

One of the most anguishing sites at the trial was seeing Travis’ sister, who loved her brother so much, break down and cry in such pain. She was inconsolable, while  Jodi  was at the other end of the courtroom showing no compassion and no emotion as you can see below. Perhaps she was in shock. Perhaps she had expected to receive the death penalty.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.03.38 PM

One of the things that jurors said after the trial was that  throughout the trial, Jodi showed no remorse for what she did to Travis. This was not surprising to me. The bottom line is that Jodi actually believed that she was was a woman scorned. In  her warped thinking,  she no doubt felt that Travis got what he deserved. That is why she showed no remorse and no genuine emotion. She did not feel sorry for what she did to him. She felt that he abused her and used her and he had what was coming to him.

While almost all of the jurors felt the opposite, there was one juror who obviously thought along the lines as Jodi. She too, felt that Travis abused her and used her.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.05.32 PM

While so many people remarked that Travis was a wonderful guy, truth be told, he was full of contradictions. He wanted to follow his faith and not engage in sex before marriage, yet he continued to engag in sex with Jodi. He told Jodi she was not the woman for him and wanted to find a pure Mormon wife, yet he continued to engage in sex with Jodi. He told Jodi to leave him alone and not stalk him, but yet continued to allow her into his life and into his bed. He allowed her to clean his home. He allowed her into his life, instead of calling the police and getting a restraining order against her and being vigilant about her ever being in his presence.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.05.48 PM

When Travis first met Jodi he was taken with her. he thought she was beautiful, glamorous and super sweet. But her sickeningly sweet tones belied her. They reflected a great deal of psychopathology. As Travis got to know Jodi, he realized there was something very wrong with this woman. Yet, he continued to take her to bed and have sex with her. He continued to travel with her.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 8.05.26 PM

He  eerily voiced his concern about Jodi being a serial killer to many of his friends. Even his friends picked up on the fact that there was something off about Jodi as they asked in disbelief, if she was always that “sweet”. It was that sickening sweetness that didn’t ring true to either Travis or his friends.

But being the nice guy that he was and wanting adventure as well as ” having his cake and eating it too”, he ignored his instincts. He ignored what he saw and what he heard out of Jodi’s mouth. He ignored her tones and her actions. He ignored his own gut level reactions that he shared with friends, and unfortunately,  he ignored the action he need to take. That action was to stay completely away from Jodi and never allow her  back into his life under any circumstances. He needed to cut off the phone calls and the visits for good.

His lack of listening to  and trusting his initial instincts about Jodi and acting upon them,  tragically  cost him his life. I am in no way blaming the victim – blaming Travis. Instead, I am pointing out how his death can serve as an example to all of us and to our children. If we see and hear and feel something is not right about another person, we must cut it off asap and never look back.

When the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, when you feel queasy or nauseated around the person, when you have a tinge of fear around them- run as fast as your feet will carry you and never look back.

And remember to never trust anyone with a high pitched baby girl sickeningly sweet breathy, monotone,  voice quality devoid of demotion. This voice often reflects a passive aggressive personality. Their voice indicates that they are hiding something and not revealing their true selves.

Nothing happens in a vacuum. There is alway a  “cause” and and an “effect”. The “cause” of Travis engaging in sex with Jodi and then taking a shower to get ready to take another woman out of town created the “effect” of  having a very disturbed woman  brutally murder him.  The cause of his not listening to and trusting and acting on his negative  instincts about  Jodi, created the tragic effect of him leaving the earth way too soon.

Travis did not die in vain. His death teaches us  that we all to pay close attention to that gut level feeling that tells us something is wrong with being around a specific person. If you are around someone where you even joke about them being a serial killer, get away from them as soon as possible. Your instincts are screaming that something is wrong.  Had Travis listened to his gut and trusted his instincts and never allowed Jodi  into his life again, he would probably be alive today.   May he rest in peace and may Jodi be held accountable  and deal with the effects that her actions caused for the rest of her natural life.

Jodi Arias Smiles, Flirts, and Kisses and Laughs In Recent Courtoom Appearance

ImageJodi Arias  first arrived in the courtroom wearing a very sullen expression. She was not wearing her glasses which were  previously her apparent prop which she used to try and sway the jury that she was just an average abuse vicitim and not a femme fatale. Her eyes looked a bit sunken and her complexion was pale.

She was expressionless as she sat down. But then she turned  to the back of the courtroom  to look at who was in the  audience. She clearly recognized someone who made her smile . She even  puckered up and gave the person a kiss.

First we see her pursing her lips as she strains to locate the person as she eyes those seated in back of her in the courtroom.

Then she recognizes  the person and makes eye contact  with them and proceeds to exhibit a genuine smile with her cheeks raised, teeth showing,  and eyes squinted. This indicates she is really happy to see the person.

She knows she shouldn’t be doing what she is doing . Hence you see her pursing her lips as she tries to surpress her excitement and happiness at seeing the person. But her eyes continue to smile.

She continues to look at the person as she unpurses her lips. Says OK .

Now we see her puckering up in a kissing motion.

She  then turns away and laughs to herself as she is quite self satisfied in terms of what she has done in giving an air  kiss to someone in the back of the  courtroom.

She continues to smile  a genuine smile as she turns away from the person. You can see her raised cheeks and squinted eyes which indicates she is very happy with herself.

The question is with whom was Jodi  flirting? Was it one of her male or female admirers? Was it her one loyal male friend who has supported and defended her ? Was it her female friend who has tweeted  on her behalf? Was it someone new? I doubt that it was her mother or father based on her strained relationship with them in the past.

Jodi is  most likely receiving support if not love letters from disturbed thinking fans out there. Perhaps the person to whom she was smiling and flirting with and to whom she gave an air kiss to was one of those  disturbed suitors.

While Jodi was happy that she was able to get some personal attention in the courtroom, this may be one of the last times she gets away with it. When she is locked up in prison for life or on death row, there will be nothing to smile  about and no one to share a laugh.

Jodi Arias Worst Punishment Isolation Not Life or Death With Her Narcissistic and Entitled Personality

There appears to be a great deal of upset with jurors in the Jodi Arias case for not coming to a conclusion as to wether she lives or dies. While there appears to be somewhat of a gladiator mindset with those who are not on the jury championing life, while others champion death for Jodi, these two options will not have as much impact on Jodi as being isolated and away from other human beings will have more of a punishing effect on her based on her personality type.

Her not having mountains of mail to keep her busy and occupied, her not making daily calls to her friend to tweet for her, her only being allowed two books every two weeks if she is lucky, her lack of having access to a pen or writing  or drawing materials, will be devastating enough to her psyche.

But even more devastating will be her lack of contact with others both on the outside and on the inside of her prison life. For someone who thrives on attention, manipulation, and for someone who feels so entitled who needs to be in control, the mere essence of who she is will no doubt  be destroyed.

While it was recently  appalling to see Jodi control and micromanage the media and the reporters who sniveled  at her feet just to get her to talk in an interview, we gained a great deal of insight as to who she is and how she thinks. She clearly intimidated almost every single reporter who spoke to her, She was the one in control. She loved it. She demanded that they only film her above the waist without her jailhouse stipes and pink socks and shackles showing. She insisted that she apply makeup and lipgloss and not be filmed doing those things or combing or fluffing up her hair.

  1. Image

The ONLY reporter with any guts and professionalism was ABC’s Ryan Owen who shot video of her in her jail garb and asked real hard hitting questions instead of those meaningless namby pamby candy coated questions his colleagues asked.

In doing so, Ryan’s questions brought out another side of  REAL Jodi as she exposed the flash of hate and anger that Travis Alexander may have seen right before he was so brutally attacked and massacred.

Gone was Jodi’s sickening sweet melifluous tone. Gone was Jodi’s plastered fake smile. Now her eyes opened wide in anger, her  jaw dropped,  her head jerked back as she was literally taken aback by Ryan Owen’s direct non nonsense not sugar coated approached. She retaliated by calling him a “hater.”

With the exception of Ryan Owen’s interview Jodi LOVED LOVED LOVED all of the attention. She LOVED bossing all the media around and setting up her rules and regulations . She LOVED asserting her control over them. But the one time she couldn’t control like we saw in her reaction with Ryan owen, she fought back and fought as hard as she could under the circumstances by calling him a “Hater”.

When Jodi did not get her way, she fought. That is what happened with Travis. She wanted to control Travis and have him marry her. She did all she could to make that happen from accompanying him on trips to ironically fulfill his “1000 places to see before you die”  goal, converting to Mormonism for him, and  indulging him in his sex fantasies and sex play. She thought she could easily control him with sex and eventually wear him down and have him succumb to her greatest  desire which was to be his wife.

So when she completely lost control, that rage and anger  of which we saw a glimpse in Ryan Owen’s interview, no doubt surfaced and all the anger of  this “sickeningly sweet  silent  but deadly erupting volcano”  came boiling up to the surface and exploded. AS a result of her built up rage, she ended up stabbing Travis 27 times and shooting him.

She thought she could control and manipulate Travis  with some great sex and that they would be back together as a couple. But that was not the case. Instead, he gladly enjoyed the sex  with her, but then told her he was taking another girl  on a trip to Mexico.

It was all too much for Jodi to hear. She lost control so did the only thing she could to gain back her control – literally destroying Travis three times over. Her intention in driving all those miles was to see if she could control Travis, one last time. if not, she was prepared to make sure no one else had Travis if she couldn’t have him.

The jury forman in his interview made some disparaging remarks about Travis. He said he believed  Travis had emotionally and mentally abused Jodi.  Travis was certainly  no angel. The jury forman was right in his assessment that Travis  did emotionally abuse her by continuing to have sex with her while he had no intention of marrying her and while dating other women in order to seek out a wife. This diminished  Jodi’s ego and sense of self to the point  that her built up anger overcame her and that she felt she had no choice other than to literally destroy Travis.

Jodi’s personality is such that when she cannot control something or someone she lashes out and destroys and that is what she did to Travis.

There is a very enlightening You tube video called “Jodi Arias Rose Colored Glasses” by a former prison deputy Warden in the  Arizona Prison system. named Carl ToersBijns

He states that Jodi will have absolutely NO CONTROL whatsoever in the prison system to start reading, language, recycling and hair donation programs like she told the jurors. She said in his video that the physical conditions alone in the Perryville prison are so harsh that many inmates die or commit suicide. He reports that Jodi will have no contact at all with others and will be looking at four walls 23 hours a day with no letters or books to keep her mind occupied.

Based on the deputy warden’s video, Jodi will be facing isolation with no human contact  for at least at least five years before she will be allowed with others. That is only of she shows good behavior. But as the deputy warden says, many find the intense heat and the extreme isolation too much to take so they often kill themselves.

When Jodi realizes that there is no inmate contact, that no one set her straight about her not being able to start prison  reading or language programs, that she won’t be able to draw or color, that she won’t be in the general population for at least five years,  that she can only read 2 books a month only if the staff has time to take her to the library, that all  her mail will not be delivered, that she has NO CONTROL over anything, it may be too much for her to bear and she may welcome death as so many prisoners do.

If she gets life, these conditions will be immensely unbearable for her personality type. Even if she happens to make it to the point that she will see other prisoners after her five years of isolation, she will be such a mental mess that she will not be able to endure the taunting that the Deputy Warden talks about in his video. If she displays that arrogant,”I am a celebrity”  or “I am better than you” attitude, uses her big worded vocabulary to show off, speaks in her precise, hyper-articulate, staccato unnatural tone,  or shows any sense entitlement she may be beaten up so severely  or even  killed by other prisoners.

This time around,  with the new jury deciding whether she lives or dies, Jodi’s lawyers  may want to give her a reality check and tell her there are no prison programs in Perryville she can control or start up. They may want to do the right thing by her even though they can’t  stand her and have her  put her narcissistic desire for attention on the back burner and shut up .

Pleading for her life may have been Jodi’s biggest mistake. It made the jury think twice about her fate, especially when she provided them with more BS about what she would do in a maximum security system.

Based on what we now know will be the conditions she will fave in Perryville, she needs to plead death or keep her mouth shut and let the jury decide without her influence.  But  that won’t be possible as her desire for control and  center stage is too great.

Here is the link to the former  Deputy Warden’s analysis of what life will be like for Jodi Arias.

Jodi Arias Body Language As Mistrial Declared Shows Shock, Hurt, Relief, and Frustration

As Jodi Arias is about to learn her fate as to  whether she was to  live or die it is essential to note how  she is dressed and how she  has  arranged her hair. With the exception of her pony tail, her hair do was similar  her court  minder who sat by her side whenever her attorneys left the defense  table for a sidebar  with the Judge.  Jodi copied the woman’s style with her hair in back of her ears  wearing bangs in front. Gone are the phony librarian glasses we saw throughout the trial.

Her copying this woman’s  style once again shows evidence of Jodi’s adhesive personality, whereby she takes on the likes or identity or style of others. With her own attorney,  Jennifer Wilmott  (when they were on better terms) you would see Jodi wearing similar colors and styles to her female attorney. She even took on  Ms. Wilmott’s posture and demeanor as she perused documents and took notes. She did the same thing with collapsing Travis’ identity with his Mormon faith as part of her own. She even remarked that the reason she smiled for her mug shot was because she thought “that’s what Travis would do.”

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.16.53 AM

When she finds out that there is a hung jury and that there will be a mistrial she immediately shuts her eyes as if to process what she just heard.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.17.02 AMThen you continue to see her processing the information while her attorney Jennifer Wilmott begins to show visible signs of surprise and anger based on her facial tension and tension around her eyes.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.17.18 AMNow Jodi  begins to show signs of upset as she processed that the jury  did not give her life which she believed that they would, but instead sent her a clear message  that they couldn’t decide whether she should live or dies. She looks hurt due to the fact that there were some members of the jury who could even think about putting her to death.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.18.49 AMNow we see that she is not only surprised but beginning to get upset with the findings because it means there were some jury members who didn’t believe her claim about being abused and killing in self defense. She also begins to realize that she will have to do her little ” and dance  act” all over again. It is as though she is nonverbally saying “Oh my God not again.”

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.19.08 AM

She doesn’t release her hand from her face as now it is  a form of self comforting and self support as she sadly listens to each juror speak . There is an expression of hurt as she hears each juror speak the same words and no doubt feels “betrayed ” by them. She spoke of feeling betrayed by them in the ABC interview. Now we see the visible physical facial expressions reflecting her perceived betrayal. Her  shoulders are rounded as she appears defeated.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.19.58 AMShe cannot move her hand from the side of her face as she continues to listen to the jurors.  There is a lot of facial tension around her lower jaw as she looks as though she is emotionally hurt and as though she could cry any second. Her potential tears are clearly due to he feeling that the jury did her wrong.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.20.11 AM

Her hand moves over her mouth indicating that she is literally “speechless” at what is happening. The tension around her eyes have relaxed more as she realizes that this may not be such a bad thing. She doesn’t have to go to death row now and be in isolation for the rest of her life. Now she has more time before she leaves the jail and heads to prison. Most of all she’ll remain in the limelight for a lot longer with all the attention paid to her, thus feeding her insatiable narcissism.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.20.30 AM

She scratches  and presses down on her midface region, nasal bridge, and inner portion of her closed eyelids  as a  way of releasing the pent up emotional pressure. It is a signal of relief. She is relieved she wasn’t sentenced to death (at least not yet).

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.18.30 AMBut for the Alexander family, not seeing her sentenced to death for what she did to their brother was devastating as his sister immediately broke down in sobs.

Screen Shot 2013-05-24 at 9.19.30 AMThe same was true for his other sisters,  while  both his his brother and brother in law showed visible signs of anger with clenched jaws and furrowed brows.  For them it was as though al this effort to seek justice for their brother who had his throat slit and who was killed so shockingly by Jodi,  was done for nothing. Apparently some of the jurors mouthed the words “I’m sorry”” to this distraught family. But to the Alexander family, these were empty words. They were the ones that were sorry that they weren’t in the courtroom seeing Jodi sentenced to die.

To the family, there is only one logical conclusion and that is death for Jodi. But that was not the case with the jurors. The lack of  the Alexander’s family wish for a  death sentence and now their  lack of closure will have severe emotional repercussions on this family until they  return to the courtroom and once again in July to still see  their brother’s monster murderess.

Following this hung jury’s dismissal from the courtroom, the Jury Forman  William Zervakos spoke to the press. He  said that  be believed Travis Alexander verbally and emotionally abused Jodi Arias. That is a shock to many who did not believe this to be the case. No doubt other jurors fell for this  line fo thinking. Otherwise they would have all  quickly agreed that she deserved to die by lethal needle.

The judge showed frustration with the jury as she read that it was a mistrial as reflected by her letting out a huge burst of air, resulting in a huge sigh before she spoke , which is a clear signal of frustration and exasperation  on her part. . There is no doubt that this trial took it’s toll on her too, since  she always had to be on her toes throughout the trial to make sure a mistrial would not be the result of anything she did. This must have been extremely  taxing on her psyche .

Now there will be  a new group of jurors to assist in deciding Jodi’s fate. For the next 2 1/2/ months, Jodi will sit in a cell 23 hours a day and do no media. This may be her worst punishment yet.

Jodi Arias Media Interviews Full of Contradictions, Deception, Anger, and Narcissism As ABC Reporter Confronts Her and Is Called A Hater

First she wanted to die and now she wants to live. Then she comes up with a list of what she will do in prison to be productive and of service to others. This includes growing her hair for Locks of Love, teaching illiterate prisoners reading, teaching spanish, and  starting a recycling program. Then in her interviews she states that she has never been to prison so she doesn’t really know what she will be allowed and not allowed to do.

In all of her interviews  her vanity and narcissism showed. First fo all  it is interesting to note that she no longer wears glasses or bangs as we have all seen throughout the trial. This was no doubt an attempt to manipulate the jury into not viewing her as the blond bombshell.

But now , she  has on lip gloss and has restyled her hair without bangs. Although she insisted she didn’t want to be videotaped primping and fixing her hair or wearing striped pants, ABC News would have none of her shenanigans and did a set up shot of her with her striped prison pants.

She was LOVING all of the attention on each of the media venues . She was relishing in the attention as indicated by her completely different demeanor in terms of her body language. When asked about her enjoyment for the media attention she leaked out a smile (duping delight)  as she denied it. Instead, she tried to spin another yarn that she was serving as a spokesperson and poster girl  for other victims of abuse.

Most of the interviewers  were very gentle with her in their attempts to garner her cooperation and a good interview. But the ABC reporter Ryan Owens was the only one who called it like it is and  was super direct and didn’t fall for her manipulation.

She was surprised at the ABC  reporter’s questions. His first question to her was why didn’t she apologize to Travis’ family. Look at how defensive and angry  she looks after hearing the question from the ABC reporter.  Look at the glare in her eyes and her pursed lips. She knew full well that she didn’t  directly apologize to Travis’ family. In fact there is no doubt she  purposely did not say she was sorry because she is not sorry about what she did to Travis (her alleged abuser). She is  only sorry she got caught and that her freedoms were taken away.

It is also important to note that when she said to the reporter that she did apologize to Travis’ family, you could see a shoulder shrug- a clear signal of deception in this context.

The reporter then says  to Jodi. ” No one believes a word out of your mouth so why do you keep talking?”

She is shocked at the question as he eyes widen and he mouth is left agape. She continues to glare at the reporter as she defensively  answers “I’ve lied before.  That doesn’t mean I am a liar by definition by character.”  Sorry Jodi, you have lied so many times that  you are indeed a LIAR by definition and by character. Here we can see how her thought pattern is functioning  which is also is so indicative of the illogical way in which  sociopaths think.

We then see Aria’s anger surfacing again as she looks away and tenses her lips as she says she feels betrayed by the jury. She then lies as she says ” I don’t dislike them.” Her voice dies off at the end of this statement which is a signal of deception as was her shoulder shrug. Of course she dislikes them.  They didn’t fall for her manipulation.

Here we see Jodi leak out her viciousness in terms of her facial expression as she knows she has been manipulating the public by first saying she wanted to die and now saying she wanted to live. She then smugly asks the reporter “Was I lying when I said I wanted to die or lying when I said I wanted to live?”

I believed that her initial interview where she claimed she wanted to die, was pure manipulation, based on how she spoke vocally and the choice of her words.

Once again we see Jodi’s anger resurfacing as the reporter says that Travis’ family wants her dead. She then leans forward and juts out her jaw in anger to the reporter and says “What do you mean , why don’t I kill myself”

The ABC reporter then asks her the brilliant question , if she was on that jury and heard what she heard, “would  you kill you?” Jodi is taken aback and liiterally leans back as she tightens her jaw looks away and tries to come up with an answer. She sighs a huge breath indicating that she is very affected by the poignancy of this question. She swallows hard and the pitch of her voice goes up indicating tension and making it sound as though she is answering with a question mark , as she says  “I don’t believe in Capital punishment?”

So the answer would be “no”. She then leaks out a smirk and closed off her tense throat muscles as she creaks out a “no”. This creak is a signal of deception. I think this quesition hit her hard as we see multiple signals of stress. In her heart of hearts she does believe that she deserves the death sentence for this crime.

The fact that she said that it was her cousin’s words that hit home and made her want to live is nonsense considering her cousin wasn’t a steady presence in the courtroom and  the fact that she refused to giver her cousin’s name out. I do not  think Jodi ever wanted the death sentence. I think she wanted life all along and this was just another lie and another manipulative ploy.

Ryan Owen then says to Jodi ” So you are never going to tell the truth about what went on in  that bathroom” as he doubts her story of self defense.

Jodi is literally taken aback by the question as she jolts her head backwards and tenses her jaw in anger as she says “I don’t know what you mean by that.” in essence Ryan Owen has caught her in her lie and she is responding via her defensive and angry body language.

She then angrily glares at Ryan and then says that she told the truth. She attacks him by saying “I didn’t know you were such a hater when you came to interview me.”

Now we see the REAL Jodi Arias and how she can turn on a dime when things don’t go her way. We saw how  the hate  came out of  her. No longer do we hear that sickening sweet vocal tone which masks her hidden rage.

We see evidence of her continued anger as masked via sarcasm when Ryan Owen asks her about her image makeover from blond bombshell to church mouse librarian look. She smugly replies that’ they don’t sell Clairol hair dye in jail”. In the photo above you can see her phony smile with non raised cheeks and unsmiling eyes and tense mouth as she says this.

She then leaks out the word “crazy as she says that it is a court of law and not a place to go “crazy or let loose.”

Those words reveal exactly what Jodi did to Travis. In  a fit of jealousy. she went “crazy” by  killing him three times over.

Kudos to Ryan Owen for his hard hitting no nonsense questions which hit Jodi to the core and made her leak out her true colors via her   body language , voice ,and speech patterns.
