While actor Charlie Sheen did a brave thing by publicly admitting on the Today Show that he is HIV positive, he may have lied as he seems to have shown signals of deception when asked if he had unprotected sex . He said that the two people he had sex with were under the care of his doctor and were completely warned ahead of time.
As he was asked the question you could see him licking his lips. Then he phumphers with his speech and then he gets defensive as he leans towards Matt Lauer, the interviewer. He also looks down as he says that there were only two and that they were under the care of his doctor and completely warned. all of these seem to be signals of deception.
Besides seeing the many signals of deception in his answer, the fact that he said that the two women with whom he had unprotected sex were under the care of his doctor and warned, raises red flags. First of all why were these women under the care of his doctor. Secondly no reputable doctor is going to say that a person having sexual relations with someone with HIV is completely in the clear and that they can have sex without a condom. This is especially true for Charlie’s physician,, Robert Huizinga, whom I know very well and who is an extremely reputable physician.
In fact Dr. Huizinga reported in the press that he is indeed afraid that Sheen could spread HIV, especially if she goes on an alcohol and drug bender and forgets to take his medicine. Knowing that Charlie has a tendency to go on binges and may forget to take his medicine, once again it is seriously doubtful that Dr. Huizenga would tell any woman she was in the clear and didn’t have to use protection when having sexual relations. with Charlie.
Charlie even admitted to using alcohol and drugs heavily after his HIV diagnosis which is further evidence that in his altered state he could forget to take his medicine and therefore expose his sex partners to the virus.
If he did indeed have unprotected sex when he knew he was is infected with HIV in California it is a crime. Apparently he settled several cases with people who were not aware of his HIV status and had sex with him. If he did have unprotected sex, under California law, he could get 6 months in jail. Also if he knew he had HIV with the intent to transmit the disease to them, it would be a felony and could receive up to 8 years in prison.
Hopefully all of the women that Charlie engaged sexually are not infected with the virus.
One of the women with whom he did have with, Bree Olson, one of his “godessess” admitted to Howard Stern that Charlie did not tell her he was HIV positive. The question now is how many others did he not tell and how many women have been exposed to HIV because of his reckless behavior.
According to reports before he admitted his diagnosis, Charlie seemed to have been worried that his fans would not accept him because he was HIV positive. But the reality is that fans may not accept him not becuase he is HIV positive, but because of his irresponsible behavior and exposing others to HIV when he knew he was infected with the virus.
